Project Lyme is sponsoring a video contest to provide patients with a platform to tell the world about Lyme disease. The theme is “day in the life”. You are encouraged to share how Lyme disease impacts your everyday life in a 15-30 second video that could be featured in our online campaign, with winning videos decided via a vote on our Instagram page. The top-voted submissions will receive a prize.

Harvard conducted an online survey to gauge what the public does and does not know about Lyme disease and ways to prevent it, also asking questions to see whether they act on that knowledge. They received 4,099 responses.

Project Lyme believes in the power of community and storytelling to raise awareness about tick-borne diseases. While sharing your story can be helpful for the general public to better understand your struggle, it can also be a great way to begin the healing process. More specifically, we encourage you to leverage art to convey the deeper meaning words cannot always touch. We have compiled a gallery with several pieces of impactful artistic expression with the hope it will reach outside the community to bring understanding, and inside the community to bring hope and healing.

On Saturday, September 24th, 2022, Generation Lyme will host the second annual Generation Lyme Day, an all-day virtual event honoring everyone whose lives are impacted by Lyme disease. We will celebrate each other for who we are, far beyond our illness, and recognize wherever we are in our journeys.

Methylene blue was originally synthesized in 1876 and used as an antimalarial drug until it fell out of favor with the rise of quinine. This synthetic dye is named for its ability to stain tissue and urine a dark blue hue. Cut to today, and methylene blue has emerged as a promising treatment for Lyme disease and Bartonella, a common tick-borne co-infection.

Children between the ages of 5 and 14 have a heightened risk of contracting Lyme disease, making summer camp can be a dangerous setting, particularly without parents present to nag their children about tick safety. Fortunately, with a little preparation, parents can help their children have a good time while staying safe from tick bites.
