Eradicate the epidemic of tick-borne diseases through awareness and education, support of cutting-edge science, and advocacy for solutions to end the suffering.

We're Growing and Thriving

Over 30 years ago, a proper diagnosis and antibiotic treatment saved the life of Project Lyme founder, Heather Hearst. Decades later, the patients she meets with and hears about are still fighting a silent battle. In 2016, Heather Founded Project Lyme, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to put a spotlight on Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. Focused on creating a dialogue that makes Lyme disease awareness commonplace, the goal of Project Lyme was to become a global advocacy organization for prevention and early detection of Lyme and tick-borne diseases by giving communities and families up-to-date knowledge, tools and resources to stay safe from Lyme disease.

Within the first two years of operation, it became increasingly clear that Project Lyme’s next steps were to expand its education and awareness efforts to those living with Lyme. In the past six months, Project Lyme has added several Board Members who are all active and respected in the Lyme community, cultivated strategic funding and programmatic partnerships and is creating a long-term tactical plan to bring Lyme suffers credible information, support and hope.
