HHS Presents – The Role of Mold Toxicity in Patients With Lyme Disease with Neil Nathan, MD

The purpose of this meeting is to engage the public-patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers, in particular-in an educational and informative session on the challenges of tick-borne disease diagnosis, particularly in people of color, outdoor workers, members of the military, children, older adults, and during pregnancy. Presentations by clinicians and researchers will provide insights into these complex and multi-faceted topics. The session will also feature updates on promising new diagnostic technologies.

Through guided meditation, gentle breathing exercises, and grounding techniques, this event will provide tools to manage stress, improve focus, and enhance emotional well-being. Whether you're newly diagnosed or managing long-term symptoms, this supportive space encourages healing and connection. The event will be adapted to those with varying physical needs.

LymeLight Presents – The Role of Mold Toxicity in Patients With Lyme Disease with Neil Nathan, MD

Patients who have Lyme disease and co-infections frequently also have mold toxicity. The symptoms of Lyme and mold toxicity overlap greatly, and more often than people realize, it is the mold toxicity that is keeping patients sick. It is increasingly important to check all Lyme patients for mold toxicity and treat when appropriate, and we will discuss this in some detail.

Men’s Meet-Up

Fathers meet-ups occur a couple of times a month and are geared towards fathers raising children with Lyme, or fathers with Lyme themselves. It serves as a support group where you will discuss a common theme each meeting, share stories of your own struggle caused by Lyme, as well as hear advice from other fathers going through the same things as you. Tick Academy

Once a year, the Tick IPM Working Group hosts the Tick Academy, which is an opportunity for researchers, educators, students, public health professionals, pest control professionals, public-space managers and citizen scientists interested in learning more about what they can do to stop the spread of ticks and tick-borne diseases in their communities. This year’s Tick Academy will take place October 16 – 17, 2024 10 AM – 2 PM CST.

Recovery From Complex Chronic Illness

Researchers at Mt. Sinai Hospital are looking into ways to help patients address complex chronic illness including LongCovid, ME/CFS (Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome) and Post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome (chronic Lyme). The studies will involve the use of medical devices, surveys, video conferences, and dietary supplements to identify results. Dr. David Putrino, lead researcher, will join project Lyme discuss how he is working with patients to help them find solutions to their chronic health issues.
