Upcoming Sessions
Project Lyme is proud to offer free, virtual group art therapy sessions for individuals battling tick-borne diseases and co-infections. Art therapy is scientifically proven to help individuals with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression—all of which can be symptoms and the result of managing chronic Lyme disease. Our host, Annabel Monsky, has a transpersonal, gestalt approach to art making that emphasizes looking at individuals holistically beyond diagnoses. She has particular expertise in using art therapy to manage chronic pain and adaptive techniques for individuals with physical limitations. Annabel looks forward to offering these sessions to the Project Lyme community.
Given this is a virtual session, you will need to have your own materials. A sample list is provided below. Materials listed will minimizes toxicity and are geared toward individuals with multiple chemical sensitivities. Additionally, if you cannot use the materials because of allergies, Annabel can help you find substitutes for materials. If you struggle to work with your hands (dexterity, motor skills), she can help them find a medium that is still healing, even if that means just listening and sharing with others in the group.
Our mission is to eradicate the epidemic of tick-borne diseases through awareness and education, support of cutting-edge science, and advocacy for solutions to end the suffering. As a national Lyme disease non-profit, we aim to positively impact patients’ lives through our work.
